As briefly mentioned in the ABOUT section this site has broad and ambitious goals and I personally hope that it will be the host to many fruitful conversations and international meetings!

I am not sure how many similar sites are on the WEB but remember that each member of ToT is not just part of a forum web-based application, he is part of a movement which has it's sacred place - The Temple Of Thought!

Dear members,

I've just added the option to upload an avatar from your Profile tab in User Control Panel section. Let's make ToT more colorful with our personal image selection.

Also use this topic to post here suggestions or troubleshoot. I'll try to fix issues quickly or explain them.

Note that this forum is still an infant so there is what to be improved. Indeed there might be a problem managing subscriptions at this stage. There will be some software updates when phpBB releases the next stable version.

Dear members,

I've just added to the forum functionality the feature to Subscribe to topics and forums and also to Bookmark topics of your choice and have the list in your personal Control panel.

Actually I'll try out the Subscribe feature first - hopefully this way we can watch a forum or particular topic and when there is a new post a notification will be sent, also to the email address you used to register. In this convenient way precious time will be saved.

It seems that there are lots of newcomers in the Temple of Thought in the past 2 months and this is great since we've doubled in member numbers.

For all of you that still have not yet posted, please feel free to start a new or join existing discussions.

Just to remind those of you who have less free time to check what's new at the Temple of Thought - we have a great subscription system you can easily use!

You need just to pick a forum (or topic) you want to watch and click "Subscribe forum" from the top menu where search is and you will be getting alert for every new message in the forum.

I have to announce that our site was redesigned and this is very important, let me explain why.. Initially ToT's original idea was to have some forum software but cloaked under the hat of out beautiful Temple skin. So when programming we used maybe the easiest and most obovious way to achieve this - through IFRAME.

But as we saw this was not good because even Search engines like GOOGLE are not capable of understanding what's the content inside this iframe - and this is a big problem because what's in the forum stood hidden for the the internet search engines.

Now this is not the case - after a serious re-design we are now with ToT version 2 which is clear of IFRAMEs and yet very close to the initial idea and to version 1. Still very comfortable to browse.

I hope this would trigger many new visitors and member visits

Registration at Temple Of Thought!

Important Notice:

Due to recent constant and uncontrollable registrations and posting by SPAM bots we took the decision the limit registration to Temple of Thought by adding the requirement of Admin's manual approval.

This means that any new user of the site would be able to login if he is approved. After his registration an email would be automatically sent to the Admin. But since there are many other emails that we receive from the SPAM bots registrations we ask you to email us as well with an additional email saying who you are, where are you from and what your username and email from the registration was so we can manually approve you.

That would help a lot in the fight with Internet SPAM abuse!

Edit: Actually if you wonder what the change is it now gives the forum static URL's so:

instead of:

now it's:
http://www.templeofthought.org/welcome- ... .html#p327

which is much more Search Engine friendly
